Embargo policy for abstracts and press materials

All abstracts accepted for presentation at EANM’26 are considered confidential until they are publicly released by EANM in connection with the Congress.

Authors, co-authors, affiliated institutions, research sponsors, and collaborators are expected to respect this confidentiality and adhere to the embargo timelines established by EANM.

1. Before the official publication of abstract titles

Press materials referring to studies selected for presentation at EANM’26 must not be issued before the official publication of abstract titles by EANM.

2. After titles are published, but before abstracts are released

Once the list of titles has been made public but the full abstracts remain under embargo, announcements or press releases may only refer to the fact that the study will be presented at EANM’26. No study data, figures, or results may be disclosed at this stage.

3. After abstracts are published, but before the scientific session

Following the official publication of abstracts, but prior to the relevant scientific session, any communication or press activity must not include or reveal any study data, figures, results, or scientific information — including content contained in the abstract itself.

At this stage, communications may only include general information such as:

• The name of the Congress (EANM’26)
• Abstract title
• Session details
• Author’s name(s)

4. After the official presentation during EANM’26

Once the study has been presented during the scientific session, press materials may include both the data contained in the abstract and any additional findings disclosed during the presentation. Such materials should also specify the Congress name, abstract title and number, session details, author’s name(s), and, where applicable, a reference to any related peer-reviewed publication.

5. Embargo information and submission requirements

Embargo details — including the exact date and time of the study presentation — must be clearly and prominently displayed on all related materials.

Parties intending to issue a press release are required to notify EANM in writing in advance of its distribution. Notifications should be sent to press@eanm.org.

Press materials should include a brief note stating that “full data have been submitted for presentation at EANM’26.”
